An Ode to the Bereaved Land

Image
To the nights when we toil on wintry streets  And the Days when we sweat in the fiercely sun Without end we have shed: Our tears! Our blood! Our sweat! We worked through the night (sigh) Our backs curled up like smoked king mackerel  Our mouths hooked with pins between out kneels like over dried cat fishes on mama's smoking racks We toil endlessly on self inflicted exiles working long hours in foreign fields Forced out of our father's land not by slavers but by the painful greed of our own kinsmen (sigh) We cry tears we cannot control not because of the weight of the burdens we bear but alas! out of pity for kits and kins left behind  We mourn silently with swears under our breath wailing, moping, wishing and groping  We pray, casting aspersions, we wait, eyes wide open ears to the ground We stand at the post of doors peeking with elongated necks like spear beaked fishes We peek back at the lands we know full of potentials  Waiting, hoping, alas longing! Vivre comme une abeille

Image

We Will Win

Image
While we lock our creative selves behind closed doors and hope and pray and hope again. While we wait in hope that our world would be healed and rid of this evil disease. While we bow our knees and our cores in awe to the almighty seeking, praying and weeping. While we wait for the wake of a new beginning Bemoaning our loss. While we count with heavy hearts The daily loss of our treasured ones whose beautiful lives were untimely trimmed by a raging plague. While we wail and cried and wailed some more With heavy hearts our eyes bulging like over beaten drums While we wait that all this will end  and we will wake from our seemingly endless nightmare  Some bigotic fools dares to toil wit our sacrifices and dash our hopes  We won't waver in our efforts to make our world safe again. We will wage a good war We will win We will stay sane and fight. We will not loose hope. We will win. And when the dawn rises and the ...

We are going to examine four key points Through worthy and healthy sacrifices Through spiritual gifts; devotion Through emotional gift; attention Through worthy and healthy sacrifices  What do you understand by a healthy sacrifice? The most important thing in a relationship is love. But how do we define love/express love? My Plight

Image
Alone I sat in humble plight....bleak  The brimming mess of a murky world heavy like Olumo wreathed on my neck. My eyes amid torrid tears and roving!  Then I asked: what is it about?  About helpless bemoaning children scampering about in want of sourless milk?  About pregnant children heavy with Kwashiorko?  About death lu rking around the corner like some vicious vultures?  What is it about?  About fathers bargaining the life of their children in selfish rootless right,  blinded by greed and deafened by ploy.  What is it about?  Again I ask, what is it about?  About a world so harsh and deadly to guiltless lads.

Annastunnel Antwerp Belgium

Image
This is one of the most amazing places I have been to in my  #travellife  is this amazing 5km underground tunnel.  #annastunnel   #antwerp  in Belgium . I call it my accidental discovery, I walked into this place while searching for shelter from the viciously cold wind and then I happened on a remarkable landmark in the history of  #Belgium  , a trully amazing and beautiful tunnel  built in the 1930s this tunnel is a wonderful mix of creativity and awesomeness. The two stage wooden escalators were the first in history made from beautifully crafted wood finely finished and polished. You can either walk through or ride through on a bicycle. It's a must see if you ever find yourself in Antwerp Belgium. Discovering this place reminds me that there is always good even in seemingly bad circumstances.  Yes come to Europe and discover amazing awesome place.  The escalators made with wood, first of its kind  5KM lo...

Blood stains from dead mosquitoes

Image
He was very wealthy and popular They said he ate with golden spoons and drank from golden cups. He had different cars, some he only drove once They even said he had Rolls Royce of different colors He was very smart and witty They said he could double or triple a figure in matter of days He was a sad man! They said he had his happy moments When he rode on Plato's wagon Last year they said he died Alas! I was very shocked, he died? Oh! How so? How could death kill a very rich man? He was very poor and almost never had enough They said he sometimes went days without food He was very hard working! They said he traded, served, toiled and tried He was a happy man! They said he never failed to share his little He helped many souls, and was loved by many But they said he was a "poor man" Last year they said he died Alas! I was very shocked, he died? Oh! How so? How could death kill a very poor man? He was very rich, Oh the ri...

Tonight again I write

Image
Tonight I write about the sufferings of my brothers on the street, and the pains of the homeless, the fatherless, the defenseless and hungry. I write about the pains of the average man who barely struggles to feed on a single meal. I write about the tears of a mother who watches her children go hungry and die of petty illnesses I write about the pains of the homeless whose only bed is under pedestrian bridges, about the bedless beggar who sleeps beside the gutters and lie in peril of rape and other forms of violence. I write about the insane in my home country left to roam the streets without proper medical care. I write about the fatigued menial laborer daily overworked, spent and bent under the burden of wares and weight. Weights not only from the luggages they carry daily, but also under the burdens on their heart. Tonight, I write about my people in the hood, who struggle to get away from the crudes. I write about the innocent child brought into an unhealt...

Tonight I write

Image
So tonight I right following a resolve to always share my thoughts on how I spent my day and record the tits and bits that I can To night I write about the many thoughts that bothers my mind and keeps me awake in the tick of the night. My first worry all days has been, whatever happened to my writing and poetic life, I used to write regularly but that changed in twenty thirteen after my first job, I guess life got the better out of me and I noticed my last post on this blog was 2013 haba! My other thought bothers on how I can make a difference, I have been thinking all my adult life about this, and well I think I have spent enough time on thoughts. It's time to act. Let's make a difference

babble

Image
Babble on babble on oh! You ranting soul. Dream of many woes your land has seen and known. Dream of tales that grow on granny’s dandy head. Life goes on they say in tunnels ever trust. Light lingers on for the heart filled with hope. A dance for your foot oh! Maiden undefiled. Kanem Boronu never knew that war will be its end, Kufo tutu never dreamt that life could fail a charmer. Abeke knever knew that Abefe has of greater preference. Man changes his mind and heart in but a flicking dance, Tales told in the moonlight lingers on in minds pure. Life flickers forever in the rain of yester years. I will dance if you sing the new song of hope. I will fight if you draw the sword of old. Prance on me if you feel the littlest glee of hope Minds built to last never know the faint stabs of hope.   I will dance in the rain if you care. I will bath with the wind if it pleases your soul Faint is the heart that hopes in futile lust, Greed on ...

Wemimo

In the beginning Wemimo The long road that led to the stream was very silent and a strange unusual feeling hung in the air, as she walked alone towards the stream she could hear the noise of the leaves under her feet. The once green leaves now brown were scattered on the flow dancing to the tune of the occasional wind.   As she walked on a little superstitious fear crept up in her mind, she had walked on for a few minutes in silence and no sound of any near human could be heard. A whirl wind had blown up few strands of withered leaves into a circular cone and as she walked on she could not but think what it meant; it was often shared in female gossip that such winds were thieves sent to sweep off the good of any house hold it welled up in front of, and often men of Owode village came out with incantations any time such winds welled up in front of, or within their premises. She had also observed that for days her fathered had pampered her, He who the entire household fea...
